Geen 4G bij Vodafone voor 2012
Op Wireless 2.0 summit gaf Vodafone een klein tipje van de sluier prijs over de 4G of LTE roadmap.
Most European operators will wait a while before harnessing these breakthroughs in any scale. Indeed, Vodafone used the event to make perhaps its most definitive statement that it would wait until 2012 before deploying, though it will have the advantage of an inside track on progress by its US joint venture Verizon Wireless, which will start rolling out in 2010. Professor Michael Walker, group R&D director at Vodafone, said: “There will be no European LTE networks in 2010 except for a few small ones to demonstrate capabilities to governments. Vodafone roll-out will depend on geography, but won’t be before 2012.”
